Molly's Chambers

I pick this outfit for my song choice.... not the other way around.

The rock, the sex, the embellishments. I love it.

Music has the ability to take you out of your real life and plunge you into an entirely new world for about 4 minutes. it may not be the vision of the artist(s) but it is what you take out of it that is important.

I love the feeling of being enveloped in a world created out of thin air and shoved into my brain through my ears... I know its weird to put it that way but whatever.

I started reading this interview with Anthony "Caleb" Follow ill from Kings of Leon who makes a quick point of describing his intent for the song "Molly's Chambers". I know it should be moderately self explanatory when you listen to the lyrics, but the way he describes it is quite lovely:

"Caleb: “Molly’s Chambers,” that’s a song about a girl that, if you ever come across her and you get your opportunity, you’d better take it. Because ah, she might eventually mess you up, but it’s worth it. The song tries to recreate the musical vibe of how she can captivate you."

Well maybe Lovely isn’t quite the word, but later in the interview they mention their writing process. it is less about the mechanics of the song and more about putting feeling into it, and getting that feeling across. Now everyone has a different writing style but I think that is the mark of an artist... not following what "should be" but following what you want (it) to be. Sure you can bang out the simple chords that create a pop song that will sell sell sell. But what does that make you? successful in one sense, but not an artist that’s for sure.

"Molly's Chambers" to me, is about that girl that we all know (and love to hate) because she seems to be everything that we want to be, she exudes sex and confidence and has the kind of swagger that digs her heels right into your heart.

Free - is all that she could bleed
That's why she'll never stay
White - Bare naked in the night
Just lookin' for some play
J
ust another girl, that wants to rule the world
Any time or place
And when she gets into your head
You know she's there to stay

You want it
She's got it
Molly's Chambers gonna change your mind
She's got your... your pistol
Molly's Chambers gonna change your mind

Slow- She's burnin in your soul with whispers in your ear
It's okay Ill give it anyway, Just get me out of here
You'll plead - you'll get down on your knees
For just another taste
And when you think she's let you in
That when she fades away
